My Experience

I came to Boise State University in August 2010 as a transfer student and jumped right onto what seemed like a massive campus, full of people I didn't know. The first few months were pretty lonely, but God quickly brought two important things to mind:

1. I started to see the BSU campus as a mission field. I realized that I quietly walked by hundreds of students every day, and many of them probably do not know Jesus as their Savior. This was a sobering reality that motivated me to be involved in something more than just going to class and getting a degree. I knew that I was in that place for a purpose, especially because BSU was never in my original plans.

2. Discipling freshman girls was just like working with the interns at Teen Mania, which is the ministry where I spent the previous three years. I really enjoyed meeting with girls and pouring into them before, and I was starting to see how that didn't have to end just because I left Teen Mania.

After meeting some new friends from a college life group at church and getting connected with Cru, I saw that this ministry exemplified the two things that God had already opened my eyes to see. I was excited to get plugged in!

Through my experience with Cru, I grew tremendously in leadership, evangelism skills, confidence, and vision for the future. I'm thrilled for the opportunity to continue learning and growing as I transition in ministry to working with college students in Moscow, Russia this year!
